A late addition to the Book Blog — Cork Migrant Centre Dancers and Kabin Crew at UCC!
On 27 September from 5:30-7pm we had another hip hop takeover of UCC campus–with CIPHER at the core–as part of Cork Discovers, a European Research Night event. It featured GMC and young rappers and singers from the Kabin Studios in North Cork City as well as Andrea Williams and the young hip hop dancers from the Cork Migrant Centre. Griff added a bit of framing for the performances, speaking about the CIPHER project and about how hip hop can act as a “third space” for young people to escape societal pressures and express themselves.
