This just in! Marshal Zeringue has featured my book Flip the Script over at his blog Campaign for the American Reader. I’ve also written a short piece for The Page 99 Test, which posits the magical axiom “Open the book to page ninety-nine and read, and the quality of the whole will be revealed to you.” Turns out it works pretty well for my book — and happens to be about M.I.A. and what I call “the authentically inauthentic.” I explain it here.
Though I publicized a couple recent blog features, I failed to track them myself here on the Flip the Script companion site, https://europeanhiphop.org/. The University of Wisconsin SoM Newsletter published an interview about the book a few weeks back and the American Musicological Society’s blog, Musicology Now, published an excerpt feature from the Irish-centered conclusion.
